Product Information
All of our signs begin with a precision CNC cut backboard, which is then fitted with 12V LEDs by hand. Silicone tubing is added to diffuse the light, creating the smooth, mellow neon glow we all know and love.
For most homes and businesses, yes: LED neon runs on low-voltage 12V power, stays cool to the touch and won’t shatter like the gas-filled glass tubes used in traditional neon signs. It’s also more efficient and lower-maintenance, so less hassle. See our LED vs glass neon guide for the full comparison.
Yes. All our signs run on low-voltage 12V power through an adapter, like charging a phone, so there’s no high voltage and no breakable glass, and they stay cool to the touch, cooler than a laptop charger. In a bedroom, a dimmer or a warmer colour keeps the light gentle at night. More in our guide: are LED neon signs safe?
Pennies. A typical 30-watt sign on for 5 hours every evening uses about 4p of electricity a day, roughly £14 a year at 26p per kWh, and a small 15-watt bedroom sign on for 3 hours a night costs about £4 a year. See the full maths in how much it costs to run a neon sign.
By default, your sign will include a power supply and wall fixtures, along with screws and wall plugs. Other accessories are available, including dimmer remotes, battery packs, and ceiling hanging kits. These can be added before you place an order, or purchased separately at a later date.
Your sign comes with pre-drilled holes and wall fixtures, so it can go straight on the wall out of the box. Alternatively, you can choose a ceiling hanging kit or, for certain custom designs, an acrylic base for a free-standing sign. Our guide to hanging a neon sign covers every method.
Yes, small and medium signs can go up with heavy-duty adhesive strips rated for at least twice the sign’s weight: clean the wall with an alcohol wipe first and press each strip on for a full 30 seconds. Avoid freshly painted walls, textured wallpaper and spots above a radiator, and use screws for a big sign of a metre or more. Our hanging guide has every option.
Yes, if you add waterproofing when you order, and the power supply is always kept dry. We’d also recommend not leaving it out year-round, as prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can cause damage over time. Our outdoor neon signs guide explains what survives UK weather.
LED neon is rated for 30,000–50,000 hours, which is about 14 years at 6 hours a day before the light dims noticeably. Looking after your sign helps it last, so check out our cleaning and maintenance guide, and our lifespan guide for what affects it.
For one or two words, 40–70cm suits most spaces, and in bedrooms, living rooms and kitchens signs of 60–120cm work well; in a large space, aim for 120cm or more. Before you order, mark the size out on the wall with masking tape or paper and look at it from across the room. Our neon sign size guide has more tips.

It’s rare for a sign to stop working, but let us know ASAP at support@neondaddy.co.uk if a breakage occurs.
If your sign stops working during the first year of your warranty, we’ll provide you with a return label and arrange pickup so we can get your sign back up and running, as well as replacing any faulty accessories.
During the second and third years of your warranty, we’ll cover the cost of repairs and replacement components.
If your sign breaks out of warranty, we can still get it up and running again, so don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We would highly recommend that you keep the original packing in case you need to make a return, as we cannot accept responsibility for signs damaged due to improper return packaging.
